American Pistachio Growers (APG) has partnered with renowned British nutritionist and bestselling author of ‘Get the Glow,’ Madeleine Shaw, to reveal the secret weapon in her diet: pistachios.

Known for their protein content and rich blend of vitamins and minerals, pistachios are a key component of Madeleine’s cooking which she credits as helping her maintain a healthy, balanced diet.

Since being diagnosed with IBS in 2010, Madeleine has committed to a wellness journey which includes delicious, healthy ingredients that promote healthy, glowing skin from the inside out.

“A healthy, nutrient-dense diet is essential for good skin health all-year round,” saysMadeleine Shaw, nutritionist and recipe collaborator for American Pistachio Growers. “Focusing on health from the inside out ensures a radiant glow that starts from within.”

Pistachios are a nutrient-dense snack, known for their antioxidant effects from the powerhouse of vitamins and minerals they contain. Pistachios are high in copper, manganese and healthy fats. They are also a source of selenium, riboflavin and vitamin E, all of which are nutrients which help protect cells from oxidative stress. Additionally, pistachios are high in healthy fats.

Pistachios are among the few plant-based proteins that are also a complete source of protein, making them an ideal substitute for meat, eggs, and seafood in your healthy diet. In addition to being nutrient-rich and high in unsaturated fats, they add a rich, nutty flavour to both sweet and savoury dishes.

Madeleine’s go-to dish is a pistachio and chilli prawn linguine, a nutritious meal combining tasty pistachios with savoury prawns, spicy chilli, and hearty linguine for a light summer dish that delivers on taste, whilst packing in all the nutritional benefits.

“Pistachios are a protein powerhouse which I highly recommend including in your diet.” Madeleine Shaw continues. “Summer sun is finally here which means it’s the season of al fresco dining, and I am thrilled to be bringing out one of my favourite, nourishing and delicious meals for family and friends to put on rotation. Whether added to salads and pastas, blended into smoothies or laying the foundation of a show-stopping party dish, the pistachio is deliciously versatile enough to have for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, or as a healthy snack.”
