Trendy Tips for a Style Overhaul This Season

Share

From fisherman aesthetic to castle-core and our continued love of western influences, there are so many different styles in fashion in 2025 that it can be difficult to know which to jump on for yourself.

With TikTok’s influence coining new trends almost daily, keeping up with the latest trends can be stressful. According to a recent study by fashion retailer NEXT, 57% of women find it overwhelming trying to keep up with the latest fashion trends.

With the seasons changing and people looking to update their wardrobes for spring, finding an aesthetic or style that works for you can be a challenge. To help navigate the ever-changing fashion trends landscape, the fashion team at NEXT has shared their expert tips on blending the latest trends with your personal style.

Let personal taste be your guide

“If the wide variety of trends at the moment tells us one thing, it’s that anything and everything can influence fashion styles. Often the coolest looks are the ones that showcase the wearer’s personality and interest. So, when you’re looking at adopting a trend, let your own personality shine through. Don’t follow a trend for the sake of it, only invest in it if it’s something you really love – that way you’ll definitely feel comfortable in it.”

Start small with accessories or shoes

“Fashion in 2025 is all about making it personal. Start with the styles you naturally gravitate toward and experiment by adding small twists from the newest trends.

“If you’re unsure whether a trend is for you, trying out new accessories with your usual go-to outfit combinations is a great way to start. Sometimes, it’s the smallest details that make the biggest impact. Whether that’s wearing metallic trainers or a chunky western-style belt, the right accessory can tie your trend-led look together. The key is to choose elements that feel authentically you.”

Ensure you feel confident in your outfit before leaving the house

“The key to pulling off a new style is confidence – no matter how bold an outfit you’re wearing, if you don’t have the confidence to match the look won’t work the way you want it to. Wear your fit confidently, giving off a self-assured vibe, and people will instantly look at you differently. If you really love a trend and you’re excited to wear your new pieces, be brave and embrace it!”

Choose trends you think you’ll love long-term

“It can be easy to jump on a trend because it’s popular at a particular moment, but investing in pieces you’ll be able to re-wear in different ways, even after the trend has died down, is key.

“A good idea is to try out trends using items you already wear and love – for example, opting for a maxi dress in bold leopard print if that’s a style you already have in your wardrobe, or if you love wearing a blazer with jeans, trying out a full trouser suit to test out the masculine tailoring trend won’t feel too daunting.”
