After fashion’s biggest night out follows lots of debate on the best dressed of the year. With ‘Tailored To You’ being the dress code for this year and suiting being infamously difficult to accessorise, jewellery expert Emma Fox at Pandora has shared her take on the best styling at the Met, along with offering tips for what not to wear with a suit.

Emma’s comments are below along with some product recommendations from Pandora.
Emma Fox, jewellery expert at Pandora commented on the jewellery seen at this year’s Met Gala:
“Every year the Met Gala showcases some of the most opulent and incredible jewellery styles and this year is no different. This year’s exhibition theme – Superfine: Tailoring Black Style was paired with the dress code ‘Tailored For You’ and we saw some really beautiful interpretations that celebrated individuality, elegance and the spirit of dandyism.
“One of the biggest struggles when wearing suiting and jewellery together is achieving balance – making sure the accessories enhance rather than compete with the strong lines of tailored clothing. Several of this year’s attendees really mastered this challenge.”
“Whilst some kept it simple, draped necklaces stood out as a key styling element, with the likes of Teyana Taylor, Kim Kardashian, Ego Nwodim, Mary J. Blige and Anne Hathaway wearing bold, layered or draped necklaces. This was most commonly styled with lower-cut necklines, where there was plenty of space on the décolletage for the jewellery to shine.
“Our brand ambassador Tyla embraced this elegant simplicity, wearing a custom delicate string necklace and lab-grown diamond studs that added to the glamour of her look while staying true to her signature style. Others opted for a simple pendant necklace, including Lisa, Cardi B and Heidi Klum – showcasing the impact of a singular, well-chosen piece. This more delicate approach makes an elegant choice, without detracting from the tailoring.

“The stunning Pamela Anderson, also a Pandora ambassador, added a beautiful modern twist to her look with a custom sculptural, floral Pandora ear cuff, which was remade from her Met Gala 2024 outfit. This is proof that a single bold piece can still make a statement.”

How to style jewellery with tailoring:
“When it comes to styling jewellery with suiting, start with the suit’s neckline and lapel shape. Deep V-necks or open collars are perfect for draped or layered necklaces that soften structured lines. For high necklines, skip the necklace and go for statement earrings or a bold brooch.
“Wide lapels look great with a pinned accent, while minimalist suits pair well with delicate studs, slim rings, or a simple pendant. Ultimately the goal is to balance everything so that it feels intentional.”
