The star of the menu is their signature Coppa Gelato, a Badiani twist on the traditional sundae, with three scoops of your favourite gelato, choice of sauce and a wafer. This item may be popular in Florence, but has not yet been available at Badiani in the UK, until now! Giving gelato aficionados and newcomers alike, the opportunity to ‘eat in’ and indulge in this iconic treat!

The new Badiani shop is excited to bring a scoop of Italy to the heart of London. Located in Cabot Place, Canary Wharf, the doors officially opened to gelato lovers from the 25th April 2024, offering their famous menu consisting of an array of gelato flavors made from the finest natural ingredients, sourced both locally and from Italy. As well as favourites including affogatos, smoothies, Pinguionos (gelato on a stick coated in chocolate), Gelato Cookies (two layers of delicious cookie around a thick layer of gelato) Gelato cakes and crepes.

On entering the new Canary Wharf store, customers are presented with a large glass serving counter, with over 16 flavours of gelato to choose from, as well as a range of vegan creations, including dark chocolate Venezuela, lemon sorbet, strawberry sorbet and mango sorbet. However, the one that tops it all, and has become the brands most requested flavour is the Buontalenti, this world-famous gelato is made with only four high-quality local ingredients: milk, cream, sugar, and eggs. This simple yet rich and creamy flavour originated in the 1960’s and is named after Bernardo Buontalenti, the Florentine inventor of gelato.
Did you know?
Many believe that gelato is the Italian word for ice cream. You may think Badiani are just being stylishly Italian when they use the term gelato, but the truth is, they are just being precise. Ice cream and gelato are made very differently. Gelato has a creamier texture. The ingredients are mixed in much more slowly to avoid the creation of air bubbles and ice particles…and Badiani only uses 100% natural ingredients! Because gelato is served less cold than ice cream, these natural flavours are more intense in your mouth.
And finally, gelato has less fat content than ice cream!
