Upmove can reveal that the KonMari’ method is the ultimate decluttering trend, acquiring over 94 million combined TikTok views overall. A tidying technique created by Marie Kondo, with a deep focus on mindful cleaning. ‘KonMari’ motivates individuals to clean or organise by category of items – not by location, such as clothing, books or sentimental items and keeping the items that ‘sparks joy’, while thanking and letting go of those that no longer sparks interest.

The ‘One-Hour’ method follows in second place, securing over 40.7 million TikTok views combined. This decluttering trend consists of spending an hour each day cleaning and organising a specific room or area in your home – tackling only as many tasks as the time allows. This encourages individuals to break down cleaning tasks efficiently and prevents getting overwhelmed or distracted.

The ‘Core 4’ method also left the third biggest impression among the ‘Cleantok’ craze, as it gathered over 23.4 million combined views on TikTok. The ‘Core 4’ decluttering technique follows four stages of cleaning room by room – ‘clear out’, ‘categorise’, ‘cut out’ and ‘contain’, urging users to create an efficient cleaning strategy to keep a clutter-free home.
