Experience a slice of speakeasy glamour in the heart of Soho and venture beneath the bustling streets of W1 to Sotto – an intimate subterranean bar now open on 59 Great Marlborough Street.
Translating to ‘below’ in Italian, Sotto offers an alluring and elegant late-night weekend spot hidden below renowned Italian restaurant Bocconcino Soho.
Open every Friday and Saturday evening, Sotto’s chic interiors and soft lighting create a cosy yet classy ambience where the night comes alive, complimented by resident DJs entertaining Soho’s denizens until late, a selection of exclusive small plates, and an impressive cocktail menu paying homage to Italy’s rich mixology tradition.
Using ingredients sourced from the heart of Italy, the experienced bar team have reimagined classic cocktails with a distinctive Italian twist, boasting an impressive line-up of sophisticated sips, such as the Funghi Old Fashioned, combiningrye whiskey infused with wild mushrooms, bitters and demerara, or the Avocado Amore with pisco, avocado, Italian lemons, Calabrian chilli and basil foam. For something a little sweeter, try the Citrus Botanica, combining Botanist gin with Italian lemons, Italicus and yuzu, or the Velvet Corvina mixing corvina wine with peach purée, wine cordial, crème de cassis and blood orange.
Sotto’s expansive wine list salutes artisan producers from across Italy, as well as featuring well-known brands from across the globe.
