Frying High: The Top 10 UK Cities Boasting the Most Chippies

Well, you’re in luck, as a new study has unveiled which locations boast the highest number of fish and chips establishments, with London coming out on top. 

It’s no secret that fish and chips are one of the biggest delicacies in the UK, but new research by the team at Betway has revealed which cities come out on top for their fish and chips offerings.

Taking a seedlist of some of the most populated cities, as well as some of the most popular staycation destination spots in the UK, the team set out to discover which cities reign as the best spots to enjoy a classic fish and chips to help hungry Brits plan their next trip around their favourite cuisine.

In first place we have London. The English capital claims the top spot with a staggering 182 fish and chip eateries dotted across the city, leaving Londoners and visitors spoilt for choice when looking to satisfy those salt and vinegar cravings.

Next up is Leicester in second place. With 179 eateries sprawled across the city, finding a quintessential fish and chips experience won’t be hard to come by.

Nottingham claims third place with a whopping 172 chippies. It was recently revealed that a fish and chip shop in Nottingham serves the largest portion of fish and chips in the UK, which encouraged customers to flock to the city to see it for themselves.

Completing the top five are Glasgow and Bristol with 149 chippies, followed by Swansea with 146, Southampton and Norwich with 142, York with 130, and Brighton with 128.
