Having taken the Leeds fitness community by storm in 2022, boutique workout studio RYDE has announced exciting plans for expansion. Spring 2023 will see the start-up firebrand launch a new flagship studio in the heart of central Manchester whilst simultaneously growing its Yorkshire community further with the help of a prestigious investor stepping up as Chairman.

The high-tech Manchester studio will be located in the heart of Deansgate and feature RYDE’s signature sleek and contemporary interior design style, premium exercise bikes and equipment, and spacious workout studios each equipped with an impressive audio-visual system.

The new opening will create 20+ new positions ranging from instructors to Front of House. RYDE Manchester will join the city’s already thriving fitness community that includes the likes of Barry’s, BLOK and Trib3. The venue will be the only studio in the city centre to offer a full-sized cycle studio and are aiming to offer up top 60 spaces per class.

Immersive fitness experience

Members can expect an immersive fitness experience that includes tailored membership packages and bespoke workout plans. RYDE’s laidback and personable approach to its members has already seen the Leeds studio quickly gain cult status with its followers.

Guests can opt to take up full membership or purchase block sessions, making it a flexible offering suitable to individuals from all walks of life. Classes such as the full-body rhythm workout RYDE Cycle, an athletic style RYDE Barre class and the high intensity RYDE Move have been huge hits with members.

Another large part of RYDE’s appeal has been its ability to engage members with a number of charity and social events. The recent RYDE CUP proved to be an excellent way to create some friendly competition amongst members, with winners treated to dinner at San Carlo followed by cocktails.

Homegrown brands

The 5K RUN & RYDE back in March was another resounding success, raising precious funds for the 4Louis charity. RYDE has also teamed up with premium activewear brand LNDR to create its own range of branded products.

In less than a year, RYDE has built strong relationships with some of Leeds’ most impressive homegrown brands, including The Green Room and Hacien Tequila.

Kyle Harris, who is the Founder and CEO is himself originally from Harrogate and has just been named by Business Insider’s prestigious 42 under 42 entrepreneur awards for the Yorkshire area.

Richard Flint joined the business as an investor and has now been named as Chairman. He will help by overseeing RYDE as it expands in Leeds, Manchester and beyond. Flint is a well-respected figure within the entrepreneurial and investing world, having worked with illustrious brands such as Seat Unique, LAD Bible, and Butternut Box.

Speaking of the partnership, Flint said:

“I am really pleased to be deepening my involvement with Ryde by becoming Chair and adding to my investment. Ryde has already created a friendly and inspiring fitness community in Leeds and the energy and warmth in the classes is brilliant. I have no doubt that Kyle and the team will make the Manchester studio a success and then look to expand into other cities.”

Positive impact

RYDE Founder and CEO, Kyle Harris, added:

“From day one the plan was to expand RYDE once we’d established a strong community in Leeds and the past year has just been incredible. As well as welcoming hundreds of loyal members into the studio, we’ve been touched by the kindness and generosity of members when it comes to our charity events.”

“RYDE isn’t just about working out in a five-star boutique environment, it really is a community and a lifestyle. I couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome Richard Flint into the mix, he’s already been making a positive impact on the business as a Seed Investor. Manchester is a little further ahead than Leeds as far as the fitness landscape is concerned, but I’m confident we’ll fit right in there and be welcomed by the city.”

“It’s a vibrant city with plenty to offer and we know the people of Manchester are going to love our new flagship studio. We’re also the only space in the city centre to offer a dedicated cycle studio. 2023 is going to be an exciting year for RYDE and the new studio is going to be the Mecca for all boutique fitness studio lovers.”
